A little more about the figures and me…

My crochet/knitting journey started a long time ago in the little Polish village where I grew up.  My best friend’s mom taught me the basic stitches and methods and I was hooked. (pardon the pun!) About 10 years ago I started ferociously knitting and crocheting and collecting yarn.  I recently discovered these adorable “Amigurumi” crochet figures, and I just fell in love with this technique.

I love to start a new pattern (the more intricate the better) and see what it will produce, especially when the outcome is so cute as these little guys turn out!  It’s honestly difficult to part with them, but they have brought so much joy to my family and friends, that it makes it all worthwhile.  That is why I started my own website, to be able to share the joy these Amigurumi creations bring.  I am a Daniel Island resident, I have a husband, Peter, a daughter, Nicole and 3 animals at home, Maya, Nacho the dogs and Lilo the cat.

I am not an Amigurumi pattern designer.  The patterns come from a variety of books which are listed below.  The authors of these books allow for the selling of any creations from their books, but not the sale of the patterns themselves.  Here’s a list of the books, they come highly recommended by me if you are interested in taking up this wonderful hobby: Sweet Crochet Friends and Sweet Crochet Animals by Khuc Cay, Animal Friends of Pica Pau 1, 2 and 3 by Yan Schenkel,  Aquatic Amigurumi by Natasha Tishchenko, Anyone Can Crochet Amigurumi Animals by Kristi Simpson, Cutest Crochet Creations by Alison North, Dress-Up Amigurumi by Madelenon Soledad Iglesias Silva, and Crochet Ragdolls by Sascha Blase-Van Wagendonk.
